Progress in the Niokolo – Badiar – Dulombi – Boé landscape
News details

The grant agreement for the Integrated Programme for Conservation, Economic Development and Cross-Border Resilience of the Niokolo-Badiar-Dulombi-Boé landscape (PICVERT), which is shared between Senegal, Guinea and Guinea-Bissau, was signed between the EU Delegation to Senegal and IUCN in March 2025.
This agreement enables the IUCN to begin implementing the programme by recruiting the staff needed to run it. The recruitment of the regional coordinator, which began in February 2025, is still ongoing.
The programme's objective is to restore, conserve and enhance biodiversity within the Niokolo-Badiar-Dulombi-Boé landscape in order to provide goods and services in a sustainable manner with equitable sharing of benefits and advantages, thereby contributing to the green and social economic development of local communities.
