Description
The adoption of Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 on deforestation-free supply chains is part of the efforts made in the framework of the European Green Deal. Its overall objective is to minimize the EU's contribution to deforestation and forest degradation, thereby reducing emissions and biodiversity loss.
This is an environmental measure that complements global/multilateral action and was developed in accordance with the EU's international commitments.
The EU Delegation to Argentina is committed to cooperate with Argentine authorities, associations, and producers to improve knowledge and understanding of the new environmental regulation that requires products such as soy, beef, and wood destined for the European market to be free from deforestation and forest degradation.
