Implementation methodologies
The creation of sustainable means to empower the vulnerable population in rural Senegal is targeted by a straight-forward set of four lines of action:
1. A sponsorship programme for disabled woman and widows which aims to provide sustainable means of nutrition and to reduce the financial burden by providing food staples, making up the majority of the monthly budget of a typical household in rural Senegal. The programme will sustainably enhance their income opportunities and also promote the participation in small scale businesses.
2. A sponsorship programme for orphan children providing free access to education. The programme will sponsor the tuition fees for boarding school, providing access to education and a stable learning environment. The programme also aims on a long term to provide technical equipment such as personal computers, laptops or tablets to the boarding school.
3. A sponsorship programme of medical assistance in the interest of the poorest population. The programme will sponsor underprivileged families for medication for chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, etc.
4. A development program with the goal of providing lighting and power distribution via solar panels. The programme aims to install solar panels in remote settlements to provide access to electricity and help to reduce the inequalities in access to infrastructure.
In a first time span from 2015-2017, we aim to set up and run these four programs, starting from the scratch on a small scale. By the end of 2016, we will review the programs and their effectiveness.
Our efforts on ground in Senegal target to provide a maximum of aid. Our efforts in the European Union target to develop new means of humanitarian aid and to rise the public awareness for Humanitarian actions and the new program of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
