In 2021, the EU, its Member States (notably Germany and France) adopted the Joint Programming Document for the programming cycle 2021-2027, consisting of a joint analysis, joint strategy and a joint results framework. The Joint Programming Document substitutes the Multi-annual Indicative Programme 2021-2027.
In 2021, the EU, its Member States (notably Germany and France) adopted the Joint Programming Document for the programming cycle 2021-2027, consisting of a joint analysis, joint strategy and a joint results framework. The Joint Programming Document substitutes the Multi-annual Indicative Programme 2021-2027.
Through the 2021-2027 joint programming document, the EU, Germany and France will:
- support the government of Togo in its strategies on poverty reduction and inclusive economic and social development, notably promoting universal access to essential quality services
- contribute to democratic consolidation founded on respect for human rights and the rule of law, as well as the modernisation of the political, economic and social governance of Togo
- strengthen the capacities of civil society to follow governmental action and to hold the government accountable
- promote trade, investment and creating decent work, taking the opportunities offered by regional and continental trade, the development of a digital economy and of a circular economy as well as the potential of agro-industries in the country
- support Togo in its strategies of adaptation and the prevention of negative impacts of climate change, and the protection of marine and territorial biodiversity
- support the capacities of Togo to confront security threats and to promote peace and stability in the region
