I am a Gender Equality and Human Rights specialist working for 25 years as a team leader and policy advisor on gender equality and women's empowerment with governmental and non-governmental organisations such as the European Commission, UN WOMEN, the Italian Development Cooperation, Oxfam (GB and Intermón), other NGOs and consultancy firms. I obtained a Master’s in Studies of Sexual Difference from the University of Barcelona and a Master's in Human and Women’s Rights in Islam from the University of Rome La Sapienza. My Sectoral Expertise includes Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, Reintegration Policies for GBV Survivors, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Gender and Environmental Management. I am a seasoned economist and consultant with a diverse international background. Holding a PhD Cum Laude from the University of Alcalá de Henares, Spain, my expertise lies in the intersections of family labor supply, labor market segmentation, and transitions between formal and informal employment settings, as showcased in my renowned thesis and academic publications. With a breadth of experience across various roles, from being a Senior Partner at Almenara Estudios Económicos y Sociales, S.L. to serving as a Global and Regional Economic Advisor for UNIFEM and UN Women, I have contributed extensively to gender equality and women's empowerment initiatives within the UN and EU frameworks. My proficiency extends to areas of economic governance, social security, and evaluation of socio-economic projects, reflected in her memberships and expert roles across multiple international committees and networks. Beyond my professional endeavors, I have received recognition for my impactful work, including prestigious awards for my doctoral thesis and entrepreneurial innovations. I am a specialist on EU’s international cooperation, with more than 13 years of experience in the field of social and democratic inclusion. I have worked in various public and private bodies, including the European Commission (DG INTPA), the Italian Government (under Prime Minister Draghi), international and civil society organisations from Latin America, Asia and the EU. My main areas of expertise include social protection and welfare policies, with a special focus on youth, as well as democratic governance.

Guillermo Delgado is an architect with a focus on urban development and housing; and lecturer at the Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM).

He lived in Namibia for thirteen years, where he was part of the team that led the review of the national housing programs and the national housing policy. There, he was part of work teams, panels and committees of national projects on urbanization and housing. He has taught courses on research methods, urbanization in the African continent, and on housing. He has supervised master's and doctoral students.

Previously he was a senior lecturer at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), where he headed the Institute for Land, Livelihoods and Housing (ILLH); and before that a researcher at the Labor Resources and Research Institute (LaRRI), where he worked with the labor movement on issues of living conditions and informal economies.

Guillermo obtained his degree in architecture from the Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA), Mexico City Campus; as well as a master's degree from the Berlage Institute (today The Berlage, at the Delft University of Technology), in the Netherlands; and his PhD in architecture and urban planning from the University of Cape Town (UCT) in South Africa.

He has worked on various research, consulting, advisory, and educational projects; focused on urbanization, land tenure, governance, housing, social protection, informal settlements, co-production/self-management, and alternative socio-spatial practices.

He has also been a consultant for international cooperation agencies, non-governmental organizations, for the private sector, as well as for development banks.

He is currently the president of the Sub-Saharan Africa Chapter of RedMX, an initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote synergies between Mexicans living abroad, as well as with the country.

Special areas: Analysis of social and economic policy interactions in transition and post-conflict societies, with subfields on gender equity and incomplete welfare systems. Served as a member of multi-national, national and regional teams working in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East to assess social conditions and to evaluate programs on poverty and inequality at both national and community levels
