Hello, Vibrant Community!

I’m Marie, and since February 2022, I’ve been steering the ship here as the Community Manager of Capacity4dev.

A wanderer at heart and by profession, my academic and work journeys have whisked me across five European nations and allowed me to dip my toes into professional adventures in seven countries globally. During my BA studies at the Metropolitan University of Prague, I carved out a little piece of history as the first student to navigate through the Erasmus+ program at the International BURCH University in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Quite a ride, I must say!

Professional with more than 20 years of progressive experience in managing rights-based development projects in multiple sectors like health, nutrition, natural resource management, WASH, educations, skill development at District, State and National level.

Professor of Development Anthropology and Co-Leader of the Centre for Society, Environment and Development at the Natural Resources Institute, University of Greenwich. Experienced research and consultant in a) social, institutional and policy aspects of livestock development and b) impacts of climate change on the rural poor and their opportunities for adaptation. Recent work through Agrinatura on value chains (VCA4D programme) and evaluation of the PRUNSAR agricultural research programme. Other recent work for the EU on the Livestock State of Play document, and technical assistance to the PLACE programme on pastoralism in East Africa

Pedzisai Ndagurwa is a technical demographer with extensive experience in designing and implementing large-scale household-based surveys and managing health and demographic surveillance systems. His work bridges rigorous methodological approaches with practical field applications, contributing to evidence-based policy and research in population health, climate and development. With a strong foundation in demographic techniques and data systems, Pedzisai has played a key role in generating high-quality data for academic research, program evaluation, and strategic planning across diverse settings.
