Hello, Vibrant Community!

I’m Marie, and since February 2022, I’ve been steering the ship here as the Community Manager of Capacity4dev.

A wanderer at heart and by profession, my academic and work journeys have whisked me across five European nations and allowed me to dip my toes into professional adventures in seven countries globally. During my BA studies at the Metropolitan University of Prague, I carved out a little piece of history as the first student to navigate through the Erasmus+ program at the International BURCH University in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Quite a ride, I must say!

Your stories, projects, and experiences are the heartbeats of Capacity4dev, and I’m here to ensure they echo throughout our online spaces, sparking connections, inspiring projects, and fostering our growing web of international cooperation.

Francis Dakyaga holds an integral background in rural and urban development planning. He holds Ph.D in Spatial Planning from TU-Dortmund, Germnay. MS.c in Urban and Regional Development Planning and Management from TU-Dortmund University, Germany and Ardhi University, Tanzania. He obtained a Bachelor's degree in Integrated Community Development from the University for Development Studies, Ghana.
Practically, he gained diverse experiences via consultancies with local and International Non-Governmental Organisations and National public departments (e.g. TI-Germany, GII, Care International Ghana, CIKOD, Send Ghana, ActionAid, Vibrant Village Foundation etc) in the areas of Development research, Project monitoring and evaluation; Ex-ante evaluation, Impact evaluations and Ex-post Evaluation, Project management, Project Appraisal, urban land management, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Social Impact Assessment (SIA), Climate change, Rural development, Poverty and Vulnerability Analysis.
His academic interests are in the areas of; urban planning, management of urban informalities, Urban development control, Urban infrastructure an

Work at the interface between the water, environment and health sectors in a developing country context. Focus is on prevention and control of water related parasitic infections. Topics include e.g. health impact assessment of water resources development and integrated water resource management and health; climate change and health,; planetary health. Will contribute an intersectoral approach to sustainable health.

Energetic, dedicated individual with over ten years of strong interpersonal skills. A strong coordination and management background. Proven ability to work effectively with people of various ages, cultural backgrounds, and socio-economic statuses. Attentive to details, able to take initiative, prioritize multiple tasks and manage workloads. A long-time interest in project development and implementation in the field of health, nutrition and food security, and safety.
