I am a Sustainable Development Practitioner with a diverse expanse of interests and subsequent expertise, which are founded on a keen understanding and appreciation for the significance attributed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
I am Maria Yesayan from Armenia. I am currently working in UNICEF Armenia and have experience with local youth-centered and developmental NGOs in Armenia, as well as international organizations, such as World Vision International and National Geographic. I have Bachelor's with Honor in Governance and study abroad certification in the field of Political Sciences from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I have participated in various national and international projects covering diverse topics from diversity and inclusion to piece and security issues.
Investigative Journalist and Project Manager. Current position: International Partnerships at Maldita.es Foundation. I am coordinating cross-border projects focused on analyse and combating disinformation in different areas of Europe and Latin America. Before, I coordinated the European Fact-Checking Standards Network (EFCSN) project, led by Maldita.es
Foundation. I have previously worked as a fact-checker and investigative and data journalist in different sections of Maldita.es. I have also been a researcher in the Spanish report of the Global Disinformation Index. I hold a master's degree in Investigative Journalism, Data and Visualisation, a MA in International Journalism at Liverpool John Moores University and I have worked in different media outlets focused on the Spanish-speaking population in the United Kingdom, where I lived for almost seven years.
