25 years of experience already !
Urban specialist by background. I've been through PhD preparation and became after graduation Associate Professor in Urban Masters. Then I shifted to operational positions in Agence Française de Développement, a public development bank where i was Urban Specialist and Project Manager during 6 years for public beneficiaries on various topics (solid waste, heritage, informal areas upgrading, Urban transport, climate, ....). I also became a team manager for 15 staff on Citizens and Public Transformation which leads me to believe that capacity building through participative design of transformation activities inside organizations is a top priority and also capacitation of citizens to enable them as actors of public action. And now I work at DG NEAR that just evolved in DG ENEST in Brussels on green financing and green infrastructures.
Two expatriations were a source of deep learning: Tunisia for PhD (1999-2002), Egypt for French Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2008-2011). And i developed a large practice of field missions in developing countries: Western Balkans, Asia, North Africa, Latin America.
Finally i do believe in dissemination of knowledge, in building or designing networks of practitioners. I developed in previous experience in France a deep experience in partnerships (in democracy resilience, open government, public innovation, urban innovation, publics policies).
My last publications :
- Les innovations démocratiques, des pratiques « à bas bruit » pour un nouvel agenda de co-développement | AFD - Agence Française de Développement
- Grandes lignes : le podcast de la recherche sur le développement de l'AFD | Innovations démocratiques
- Smart city and local authorities
- ASToN : la transition numérique de 12 villes africaines en réseau | AFD - Agence Française de Développement
