Mr. Nnamdi Anene has been working in the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development of the Federal Republic of Nigeria since 2008 as a geologist deployed to the Artisanal and Small-scale Mining Department. His roles focus on assisting the Ministry in formulating and implementing policies for the effective development and regulation of the Artisanal and Small-scale Mining sub-sector. Prior to joining the public service, Mr. Anene had a brief stint in the private sector working with a water borehole construction company. He also participated in various geological investigations whilst undergoing the National Youth Service Corps programme at the Nigerian Geological Survey Agency. Mr. Anene has a degree in Geological Sciences. He also obtained a postgraduate diploma in Environmental Management from the Centre for International Postgraduate Studies of Environmental Management at TUD Dresden and a Master of Technology in Environmental Management from the Federal University of Technology Minna, Nigeria.

An experienced Operations, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) professional with skills in program and policy analysis, program and projects monitoring and evaluation, design and management of development programs and experience in participatory development approaches, design and implementation of demand side governance frameworks, including social accountability mechanisms and community driven development (CDD) programs.

My experience encompasses several multi-phases national and international large programs, projects and proactive management of crucial external relationships. I proven leadership skills, strong commitment to high ethical and professional standards, and flexibility in devising proactive responses to changing socioeconomic conditions would allow me to make a significant contribution to the national and international development programs.

Moreover, I led various researches, mid-term and impact evaluation initiatives with skills in national survey and household census design [nationwide targeting mechanism for identification of the poor], management and execution. I have experience in designing and implementing microfinance and social protection initiatives, conducting institutional and individual capacity assessments for capacity enhancement programs and an experienced trainer in participatory approaches. I made several presentations on Program and Project Management, M&E; National Poverty Targeting Surveys and Community Driven Development and Led the Development of few knowledge management frameworks.
