Whether you work in the headquarters or in the European Commission Delegations, you may at some point have to present and communicate on the subject of technical cooperation reform. You might be asked to contribute at a country-level or regional seminar, a training session, in meetings with partner countries representatives or other stakeholders, perhaps at an international conference or simply partake in internal events.

Whatever the occasion, we have developed a series of communication tools to help you. These tools will be improved and complemented based on your feedback, so when you need materials then please download the last version from www.capacity4dev.eu.

  • Video interview of K. Richelle: "The reform of technical cooperation is a cultural change" (March 2009): In this video, which is available in a short (1"57) and long (11"16) versions, Director-General of EuropeAid K. Richelle presents its vision of the Backbone Strategy on TC and PIUs. This video may support your presentation of the Backbone Strategy.
  • Backbone Strategy Questions and Answers: Find short answers to Frequently Asked Questions about the Backbone Strategy for TC reform and the Guidelines in this document. The FAQ will be updated and amended regularly.  
  • Concise overview of the technical cooperation reform: This briefing gives a concise overview of the technical cooperation reform process the European Commission launched in July 2008. The EC reform strategy has taken an integrated approach covering hardware aspects including procedures, systems and tools, quality assurance, and so forth as well as software aspects, such as practices, skills, organisational culture.
  • Video introducing the Guidelines:  In this video (8"05),  Nils Boesen, who assisted in drafting the Guidelines - gives a short presentation of the Guidelines on "Making Technical Cooperation More Effective".
