The UN Development Programme's Oslo Governance Centre (OGC) provides policy guidance and technical support and training on governance.

Established in 2002 as part of the global policy network for democratic governance of UNDP, the OGC offers policy guidance and technical support to the more than 130 country offices. It also cooperates with donors and research institutions and currently is undertaking three country studies on governance assessments.

The OGC produces a number of web-based services and publications relating to Democratic Governance Assessments, to governance and poverty reduction, civil society and land governance. The centre also produces user's guides on these subjects and recently released the User's Guide to Measuring Corruption.

Democratic Governance Training Online is an online training facility for UNDP staff, but open to a broader audience of interested users, too. It provides three training modules:

1. Promoting democratic governance grounded in UN values and principles

2. Fostering inclusive participation

3. Strengthening responsive governing institutions

The OGC has also set up a Training Referral Service web page. This database is open to everyone who is looking for detailed information on institutions and training providers from across the world that offer training services for governance and development practitioners. The database can be searched by subject, region, language or institution.
