Created 02 December 2013

The Malawi Peri-Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Project developed out of a 2006 EU Water Facility (link 3) Call for Proposals.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) proposed a project that would reinforce existing water structures, and extend water access to low-income areas in the capital Lilongwe, and the country’s second city, Blantyre.

As the project drew to a close, the EIB hosted the “EIB’s Investment in the Water Sector in ACP countries” workshop in Brussels, September 2013, to highlight this project's challenges and achievements.

Powerpoints by:

Harald Schölzel, EIB’s Water Sector Specialist
