Event details
Description
Dear colleagues
Very pleased to invite you to the KM4Dev Knowledge Cafe No. 34 which is a write-shop where you can write your personal statement or vision for the forthcoming, updated Agenda Knowledge for Development to be published in July 2024.
Some background The Knowledge for Development Partnership (K4DP) is embarking on an ambitious update to the Agenda Knowledge for Development which is currently available in Bengali, French, Spanish and English. Last published in 2018 (third edition), this global agenda provides a universal framework for nurturing knowledge societies and achieving the UN’s Agenda 2030 & the Sustainable Development Goals. The 2018 edition includes the personal visions of 130 colleagues from around the world which informed the Agenda's 14 Knowledge Development Goals. To ensure this new edition captures a true diversity of perspectives, K4DP is issuing an open invitation to stakeholders across all sectors to actively contribute their voices, visions and ideas. We want to hear from individuals working at governments, businesses, NGOs, international organisations, academia, and passionate individuals dedicated to creating positive change through knowledge.
The write-shop To facilitate new contributions, K4DP is hosting a special interactive write-shop on Wednesday, 29th May from 3-4:30 pm CEST with Madina Ba from K4DP facilitating and Prof. Andreas Brander, Managing Director of K4DP, speaking. In this write-shop, we will take you through a step-by-step process to support you to articulate your perspectives into clear, compelling personal statements for inclusion in the updated Agenda. This updated Agenda will play a pivotal role in our advocacy efforts leading up to the UN Summit of the Future in September 2024. Adopting the Agenda Knowledge for Development is the main call of RealKM Magazine, the Knowledge management for Development (KM4Dev) community and K4DP campaign to the United Nations and its member states which can be read in the Open Letter launched in February this year. You can still sign, by the way! The write-shop will be held as KM4Dev knowledge cafe No. 34 with support from RealKM Magazine.
If you are unable to join the write-shop, you can also submit a new personal statement expressing your vision for knowledge management and the knowledge society, the key challenges, and proposed solutions or actions (in less than 250 words) in English or French by 31 May.
The write-shop can be found as a calendar invitation here: https://dgroups.io/g/km4dev/viewevent?eventid=2349031&calstart=2024-05-29
You can also read more about the Agenda and the write-shop in an article Calling all knowledge champions: join our write-shop and contribute your vision to the Agenda Knowledge for Development by Madina Ba, Andreas Brander and Sarah Cummings in RealKM Magazine.
