Worldwide Event of World Soil Day Conference: "Arable Land Protection Mechanism and Innovative Approaches in the Framework of Eco Civilization" 世界土壤日全球活动研讨会：“生态文明背景下的耕地保护战略与路径创新”

Arable land protection affects global and regional policies, including food security, climate change, social-economic livability and poverty problems. Under current circumstances of global and regional sustainable governance, climate environmental crisis and Eco Civilization systems, China's Prime Farmland (PF) compensation approach has been challenged to meet requirements of ecological protection, fallow land policy and respect of Eco Red Line requirements. Furthermore, major challenges​ have come up with comprehensive technical solutions, such as soil and water quality​ conservation, planting and cultivation plans, regional livelihood and biodiversity​ (ecosystem services).​

In order to exchange and discuss the scientific support, overall system design, technological​ integration construction, as well as the collaborative relationship between ecological​ civilization development and cropland protection strategy, the editorial department of China​ Land Science, together with the school of Land Science and Technology of China​ Agricultural University, plans a conference on "Arable Land Protection Strategy and​ Innovative Approaches in the Framework of Eco Civilization".

The conference functions also as a Worldwide Event of World Soil Day 2019 with the theme of "Stop Soil Erosion, Save Our Future".​ After the meeting, the meeting outcomes  and views of experts will be published in the​ journal of Land Science Developments, China Land Science website and the Chinese Land​ Science WeChat page. The Chinese and English bilingual information of the conference will be​ released on the: Knowledge@Terra Classrooms Sharing Platform (on EU Capacity4Dev​ Platform for international cooperation).

耕地保护影响着全球和区域政策，包括全球各地的粮食安全，气候变化，社会经济宜居和贫困问题。在当前全球和地区的可持续治理、气候环境危机和生态文明体系背景下，生态保护、休耕政策与生态红线的要求对以耕地占补平衡为核心政策路径的中国基本农田政策，并对水土质量保持、种植养殖方案、地区生计发展和生物多样性（生态系统服务）等综合技术产生了重大挑战。

为交流和研讨生态文明背景下耕地保护战略与路径创新的科学理论支撑、制度顶层设计、技术集成建设，以及生态文明建设与耕地保护之间的协同关系，《中国土地科学》编辑部联合中国农业大学土地科学与技术学院，定于2019年11月30日在北京举办“生态文明背景下的耕地保护战略与路径创新”研讨会。

本活动亦是以“防止土壤侵蚀，拯救人类未来”为主题的世界土壤日2019全球活动。会后，拟将会议结果和专家观点通过《土地科学动态》期刊、中国土地科学网站和中国土地科学微信公众号推出。会议的中英文信息由地域知识课堂分享平台（属欧盟国际合作发展网络）发布
