Learning materials: Aid and Development Effectiveness in the post-Busan Context

Practical Information

The course is intended for Commission staff, notably for DG Devco in HQ and Delegation. The course is also open to colleagues from the European Institutions, notably DG ECFIN, ELARG, TRADE, ECHO and the EEAS.

This course lasts 2 days and can take place both in Brussels (HQ) and Delegation.

For further information, please contact the DEVCO Training Team.

Training Objectives

"Just because you're doing good, doesn't mean you're doing it well”.

The objective of this course is to learn about and implement the principles and commitments on aid and development effectiveness agreed in the fourth High Level Forum (4 HLF) which was held from 29 November to 1 December 2011 in Busan and checking them with the reality in the field, the progress made and challenges, as well as build upon experiences of the participants. At the end of the course, the participants will be acquainted with a critical “reality-check” approach useful for their daily work. They should be able to mainstream the principles and commitments on aid and development effectiveness in PPCM documents (project preparation, monitoring, reporting, evaluation, etc.), thus contributing to increasing development results at field level. The course modules are lively, interactive and rooted in practical, from-the-ground examples.
