Aid data & Transparency training
using aid data at country level
The course aims to support use of IATI data at partner country level. It provides an introduction to open aid data and how it can be used – in reports, to support joint programming, for donor mapping exercises, partner country dialogue etc. The course showcases some online tools available to extract IATI data and websites visualising this data, in particular the EU Aid Explorer that presents aid data published by the European Commission and EU Member States. You will understand how information registered in the Commission's financial systems later on is available as open data online.
The course is aimed at staff working in Delegations and Headquarters, in particular those responsible for inputting data into COM systems (CRIS, ABAC, BPC, etc) as well as those staff working with donor coordination and Joint Programming and staff providing data for partner country use.
The course is delivered in Brussels and lasts 1/2 day. It covers DEVCO commitments on aid transparency; progress to date and future plans. It will examine Commission and MS data which is currently in the public domain, explaining what is available where and what it can be used for, covering OECD & International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) data. The session would also introduce the DEVCO transparency tool, EU Aid Explorer.
The training is proposed in English and in French.
