MAPS Peace Group: "Peace – Conflicts, borders and border policies, human rights"

Migration and Displacement Action Plan for Sub-Saharan Africa (MAPS) | Capacity4dev MAPS’ key activities consist on carrying out studies and developing knowledge products on migration and forced displacement situations in ten Sub-Saharan African Countries, notably Ethiopia, Kenya, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Senegal, and South Africa. 

Migrations and forced displacement will be analysed with reference to the perceptions of first-line practitioner groups and internal migrants and on four thematic areas of People, Planet, Prosperity and Peace. Those areas, toghether with Partnership, are the pillars of United Nations Agenda 2030 aimed at addressing global challenges and promoting sustainable development.

The rationale behind creating the 'MAPS Peace Group' builds on the willingness to foster public dialogue on Migration and Peace, with specific attention given to conflicts, borders and border policies, and human rights , and to enhance knowledge-sharing through peace-sensitive lenses.
