Description
Migration and Displacement Action Plan for Sub-Saharan Africa (MAPS) | Capacity4dev MAPS’ key activities consist on carrying out studies and developing knowledge products on migration and forced displacement situations in ten Sub-Saharan African Countries, notably Ethiopia, Kenya, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Senegal, and South Africa.
Migrations and forced displacement will be analysed with reference to the perceptions of first-line practitioner groups and internal migrants and on four thematic areas of People, Planet, Prosperity and Peace. Those areas, toghether with Partnership, are the pillars of United Nations Agenda 2030 aimed at addressing global challenges and promoting sustainable development.
The rationale behind creating the 'MAPS Prosperity group' builds on the need to foster an open, interactive dialogue on the socio-economic dimension of migration, including Education, Employment, Health, Housing, Equality, Socio-spatial Inclusion, and to enhance knowledge-sharing on relevant inclusion V/S exclusion dynamics in the context of migration and forced displacement.
