The training addresses the need of advisers and experts involved in rural development and natural resource management with the intention to better understand agro-pastoral livelihood systems as an integral part of a holistic approach to food and nutritional security.
The training will focus on the following
- Changing ideas and current concerns about sustainable agricultural development in the context of climate changes.
- Maintenance of soil fertility and biodiversity in the context of sanitary challenges and plant protection
- Rural livelihoods, labour conditions and socio-economic requirements
- water-economy and water management
- Animal husbandary, manure and fodder-production
- Energy demands and supply systems for energy-efficient agricultural production
