At the intersection of youth capacity development, inclusive democracy, and democratic innovation, Iswat has spent the past seven years working with organizations and institutions to implement social development initiatives that equip young people with the skills, tools, and confidence to participate meaningfully in governance, democracy, and civic processes. With democratic resilience at the core of her work, she operates actively across the youth development, education, and public policy space.
She has co-developed a range of knowledge and learning products, including policy briefs, frameworks, and training materials, drawing on her experience across institutions in Africa and Europe. These include the European Union Delegation to Nigeria and ECOWAS, where she served as a Youth & Policy Advisor; the Nigerian National Assembly, where she was a Legislative Intern; and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for International Partnerships, where she contributes as a working group member on the Youth Mobility for Africa Flagship Initiative. She has also served as a Knowledge and Learning Manager at #DiasporaVote!, among other roles.
