Component 2
Component 2 promotes the development of public policies for compliance with environmental and labour standards that favour the sustainability of production chains. It provides technical assistance in Latin American countries - MERCOSUR, the Andean Community and Chile - to promote sustainable trade and economic policy, within the framework of the European Union's European Union Regulation on Deforestation and Forest Degradation Free Products (EUDR).
Component 2 of AL-INVEST Verde is working in the countries of the MERCOSUR (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay), in the Andean Community (Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru) and in Chile. It also organises various cycles of dialogues on sustainable value chains.
Component 2 of AL-INVEST Verde is part of the initiative Europe Team on Deforestation Free Value Chains and supports countries in the implementation of the European regulation on deforestation and forest degradation-free products (EUDR), which sets out requirements for due diligence operators marketing or exporting from the European Union (EU) the following raw materials: oil palm, cattle, timber, timber, coffee, cocoa, rubber, and soybeans.
