Description
The EU Global Diaspora Facility (EUDiF) is a project funded by the European Union’s Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA). The project is implemented by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD). EUDiF works to consolidate knowledge and action to address the fragmentation of diaspora engagement for development and foster an informed, inclusive and impactful diaspora-development ecosystem.
The project's first phase ran from June 2019 - May 2024, within which time EUDiF generated over 220 publications - including a global mapping of diaspora engagement policies, practices and institutions in 120 countries, organised and contributed to global and regional dialogues on migration and development, ran 16 projects covering 18 partner countries and mobilised the expertise of over 90 diaspora individuals.
As of June 2024, the project is in a second phase which builds on the knowledge and dialogue foundations, whilst providing capacity development for public institutions in partner countries and grants for diaspora organisations in Europe to run development projects.
