Testimonials

"There has been significant improvement in the quality of life for me, my family and my customers due to this micro-solar power technology I sell. I am proud to be part of my community's change from harmful ways of lighting and cooking to sustainable ones",

Hamilton Macheso, Technology promoter and seller
Mmola Village, STA Chanthunya, Balaka

"We knew we were walking longer and longer distances to fetch firewood, but it never occurred to us that we can do something about it. The Project has empowered us to plan and act on our current and future energy challenges. People of my village are not only planting in this communal village forest area, but also in their individual homesteads as well"

Chairman for the Chambo Village Forest Committee

“Up to this day, I have produced 443 stoves since 2009. I have sold 441 of them and I use 2 in my household. From the stoves that I sold, I have realized MK154,350 (€441) which has helped me to buy food, basic household necessities and to reduce my frequency of firewood collection because the stoves save a lot of firewood. I have also managed to start a small vegetable selling business and a grocery whose profits are helping my household’s upkeep”,

Member of Stove Production Group
Manjanja Village

"My wife and I used to cook on a three stone open fire but now we are using portable clay stove (Chitetezo mbaula) which is safe, produces less smoke and is energy efficient. In addition, my involvement in production of stoves as a business brings daily income to my family. I also have trees planted around my house to have easy access to firewood"

Daniel Ganizani, Member of Stove Production Group
