Description
The PSD Liberia project aims to strengthen the competitiveness, inclusivity, and sustainability of key value chains (cassava, aquaculture, and wood processing) to support decent job creation and economic growth. It specifically supports MSMEs - including those led by women, youth, and persons with disabilities - to improve productivity, access markets, and create decent and inclusive employment opportunities.
APPROACH
The Action focuses on three strategic value chains:
- Cassava
- Aquaculture
- Wood processing
It combines private sector development and value chain development through three complementary components:
Component 1 – Business Environment and Public - Private Dialogue
Improved regulatory and institutional frameworks through structured Public - Private Dialogue (PPD), contributing to a more conducive business and investment climate.
Component 2 – Skills Development and MSME Support
Enhanced technical, managerial, and entrepreneurial capacities of MSMEs within the targeted value chains.
Component 3 – Decent Work and Inclusion
Improved access to decent work opportunities, with a focus on women, youth, and persons with disabilities, in line with international labour standards.
