About SOCIEUX+

SOCIEUX+ EU Expertise on Social Protection, Labour and Employment is a facility for technical cooperation between public and social partner peers established and co-funded by the European Union (EU). The general objective is to expand and improve access to better employment opportunities and inclusive social protection systems. 

SOCIEUX+ operates as a demand-driven technical cooperation facility, allowing institutions from partner countries to submit requests in a simple format. The SOCIEUX+ Team reviews and refine the requests in collaboration with the requesting partner institution, to ensure that each technical cooperation is tailored and well-defined, and mobilises the necessary European public expertise for the technical cooperation activities.

SOCIEUX+ also includes knowledge development activities to capitalise on the results of the actions carried out.

SOCIEUX+ is available in more than 160 eligible countries and territories worldwide.

Scope of work

The SOCIEUX+ areas of intervention include all social protection, labour and employment dimensions, including:

  • Labour dimension: Legal framework, Occupational Safety and Health and working conditions, institutional reforms and practices, active labour market policies, formalization of informal employment, eradication of child labour, decent work, due diligence, social relationships, social dialogue.
  • Employment dimension: public employment services, entrepreneurship, jobs creation, vocational guidance and training, LMI and analysis systems, matching labour demand and labour supply, green jobs, employability of vulnerable groups, youth employment, disability, NEETs, gender equity, soft & hard skills, digitalization of services. 
  • Social insurance: Old age, invalidity and survivors pensions, Healthcare, Accidents at work and occupational diseases, unemployment benefits, Maternity, family and household benefits.
  • Social assistance: Income guarantee schemes, Basic and other social services, Social security for informal workers, Child protection and Disability-inclusive social protection, among others.

SOCIEUX+ partners

SOCIEUX+ is a technical cooperation facility set up and co-funded by the European Union through the European Commission’s Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA), the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR), and the governments of Belgium, France, and Spain. 

The Facility is implemented by a partnership composed by Expertise France (the partnership lead), the Belgian International Cooperation on Social Protection (Belincosoc), the Belgian Development Agency (Enabel), and the International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP).
