Step 2: Choose one of the options

  1. “I already have an EU Login account" - Choose this if you are EU institution staff or if you have an EU Login account that you have used to access other EU platforms. If you are EU institution staff, your 'organisation' and 'organisation type' fields will be automatically filled in, and you will be able to access additional restricted spaces on the platform.

EU Login must be connected with a multi-factor authentication (MFA) when connecting to a new Capacity4dev member account. Go to the part: Set up your multifactor authentication (MFA).

  1. “Create an EU Login account" - Choose this if it is your first time using EU Login. NOTE: We highly encourage all our members to use professional e-mail addresses for registration on Capacity4dev for credibility purposes and facilitation of validation!

After clicking on “Create an EU Login account”, read our Terms & Conditions and our Privacy statement, accept the Terms if you would like to proceed and click “Create an account”.

Step 3: Fill out All Fields in the Form Provided by EU Login

Set up your multifactor autentication (MFA)

To proceed, you need to set up a second factor authentication. How to set-up your multi-factor authentication (MFA) system:

  1. Access your account settings: Log in to your EU Login account at https://ecas.ec.europa.eu/cas/ and click on your profile icon in the top-right corner> Select My Account.
  2. Choose your second factor: From the My Account page, go to “Manage my trusted platforms and security keys” or “Manage my mobile devices” (depending on your chosen method).
  3. Select and set up a method: You can choose from several secure options:
    • EU Login Mobile App: Install the official EU Login app on your smartphone (available on Android and iOS). In your account settings, select “Add a mobile device”, enter a device name and a 4-digit PIN, then scan the QR code displayed on your computer screen using the app.  Confirm the enrolment via a push notification.
    • Trusted Platform Module (TPM): If your computer has a TPM chip (common on Windows 10/11 or Apple devices with T1 chip), you can use your device's biometrics (fingerprint) or PIN. In your account settings, select “Add a trusted platform”, follow the on-screen instructions, and use your computer's sign-in method.
    • Security Key: Use a physical FIDO2-compliant USB, NFC, or Bluetooth security key. Plug it in or pair it, then follow the prompts in your account settings to register it.
    • Passkey: Generate a passkey on your mobile device (no app needed) or computer. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both devices and follow the setup steps in your account settings.
