Joint Strategy 2017-2020 closely aligned to the country's national development strategy, the Sustainable Development Strategy: Egypt Vision 2030, as well as the government's subsequent implementation plans.
"Joint Analysis of Egypt's Political, Social, Economic and Planning Context" elaborated by the EU Development Counsellors groups in Egypt in coordination with EU HQ (EEAS; NEAR; line DGs) and approved by EU Heads of Mission in Egypt on 4 October 2016. Joint European Response, approved in December 2017, contained provisions on the division of labour, the synchronisation of programming cycles and identification of indicative financial allocations.
Joint European priority areas include: 1) Economic modernisation, energy and environment; 2) Social development and social protection; 3) Governance, enhancing stability and modern democratic state (incl. civil society and gender); 4) Migration management.
