Communication Expert

I am a Data and Evaluation expert, former journalist, with 18 years of professional experience, currently working as Evaluation, data and knowledge expert, in the core team of MELDEA project, providing help desk evaluation support DG INTPA and DG NEAR. Following an education at the European School of Brussels II, he graduated in Journalism at the Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve (UCL, École de Journalisme de Louvain), and worked for 4 years as a journalist in Brussels covering EU News. This was followed by 7 years working in the management of International Development projects for consulting companies, and 7 years working as an expert in evaluation, data analysis, communication and knowledge management for the evaluation helpdesk technical assistances with DG INTPA, DG NEAR and FPI, which is his current assignment.
In the past 7 years, he has applied his data analysis skills and knowledge of EU Project Cycle Management to the field of developmental evaluation, with the objective to improve evaluation practices and learning from evaluations in the EC institutions. He has an excellent knowledge of EU Policies and guiding principles of Team Europe initiative, Strategic Planning and Programming Cycle (SPP), Financial Guidelines and EU funding mechanisms, and an excellent knowledge EC financial and contracting procedures (PRAG, INTPA Companion), Intervention Cycle Management guidelines, internal reporting and monitoring.

Hi, I’m Maria. I am a proactive and skilled problem solver working as a Design and Knowledge Management expert in Meldea (Particip). I have a BA in International Relations and an MA in International Development with a specialisation in International Migration, focusing on African politics.

Since March 2024, I have been managing user support activities on the Capacity4dev platform. I monitor the support@capacity4dev.eu mailbox daily, validate new memberships, and check community content. I engage with the different stakeholders present on Capacity4dev, providing non-technical support to users and Space Managers. I also liaise with the IT team for technical issues and analyse user support data to improve the platform.

I am a Brussels-based knowledge management consultant, facilitator and trainer. From 2015 to 2019 I was the Team Leader of the Methodological and Knowledge Sharing Support Programme (MKS). I am currently working as Senior Knowledge Management (KM) Expert for the MELDEA project (DG INTPA, DG NEAR and FPI).

Advise the members of the Directorate Asia Pacific and Delegations in the programming, design and implementation of budget support programmes and public finance management project.

23 years of International experience and 11 in the NGO sector in Ireland. I had continued working in the Third Sector in Spain & currently at International Cooperation.

I am passionate about projects that create value in people´s lives, communities and that contribute to transform society.

I work in the unit in DG DEVCO which deals with international organisations and major non-EU donor countries, European Commission.
