Cyber Resilience for Development (Cyber4Dev) is an EU funded project of a duration of 42 months in a number of countries across Asia, Africa and South America.
The EU Mobile Labs Project has provided one of the first labs against the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. A mobile unit was deployed to Guinea in March 2014, at the outbreak's onset. It has provided diagnosis for a large fraction of the samples collected - 3000 during the first 6 months, identifying over 1000 positive cases. Up to 70 samples per day have been processed, with diagnosis available within 4 hours. Two additional mobile labs have been deployed to Nigeria and Liberia.
Those living on the shores of the Tonle Sap Lake in Cambodia depend on its resources for their income, yet climate change and overfishing are increasingly threatening their livelihoods. The GREEN project (2021-25) is helping to boost incomes and create sustainable agriculture for the most vulnerable communities.
Every child has the right to quality education, without discrimination and on an equal opportunity basis. Yet poverty and prejudice still prevent many disadvantaged children in Nepal from receiving the education they are entitled to. Through the SAHAYATRA project (Strengthening civil society organisation for resilient and inclusive education governance in Nepal), VSO is committed to promoting inclusive and quality education, so that these children too can develop and pursue their dreams.
