MIEUX (MIgration EU eXpertise) is a peer-to-peer experts’ facility which supports partner countries and regional organisations to better manage migration and mobility through the provision of rapid, tailor-made assistance upon request. Since 2009, more than 100 countries across the world have benefited from MIEUX capacity building activities delivered by almost 400 migration experts. MIEUX is a joint initiative funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).

Suite au séisme dévastateur de janvier 2010, l’Union européenne a pris une part importante dans les efforts de la reconstruction. Les deux premières années ont essentiellement été consacrées à l’action d’urgence, notamment à travers les actions d’ECHO (le service de l’Union européenne en charge de l’aide humanitaire et de la protection civile), en faveur des populations sinistrées. Une seconde phase a consisté à créer des liens entre l’aide d’urgence, la réhabilitation et le développement (LARD) alors que près d’un million de personnes vivaient encore dans plus de 800 camps.

The FAO-EU Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) Programme seeks to reduce and eventually eliminate illegal logging. With the support of its donors, the FAO-EU FLEGT Programme funds projects created by governments, civil society and private sector organizations in Latin America, Africa and Asia to improve forest governance.

The Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy is the largest global alliance for city and local climate leadership, built upon the commitment of over 13,000 cities and local governments. These cities hail from 6 continents and 144 countries. In total, they represent more than 1.2 billion people. With Regional and National Covenants of Mayors, cities can commit locally to act to climate change through the GCoM. Each Regional and National Covenant is a member of the GCoM and may profit from contributing to the world’s largest existing initiative supported by the European Commission and Bloomberg Philanthropies and acknowledge by the United Nations Framework Conference for Climate Change rather than to a standalone or new effort.

El Programa de Apoyo a la Educación Técnica y Formación Profesional en Nicaragua – (TECNICA) tiene como objetivo principal: Acompañar la implementación de la Estrategia Nacional de ETFP para contribuir a que las personas logren las cualificaciones profesionales necesarias para su empleabilidad, en un contexto de educación permanente, contribuyendo así al Plan Nacional de Desarrollo Humano de Nicaragua. Específicamente esta Asistencia Técnica apoyará a las instancias clave en la implementación del Programa en el cumplimiento del Resultado 4 del TECNICA.
