Discussion details

Created 03 November 2015

The objectives of the Roundtable were to examine the state-of-the play and current challenges in relation to the biodiversity-poverty nexus and to take this opportunity to discuss and build support for a draft initiative of the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) on “Biodiversity for Poverty Eradication and Development”, and to enhance collaboration and partnership among numerous global and regional entities that are currently working on these issues. This meeting was organized so as to benefit from the participation of members of the EC Working Group on Biodiversity and Development. The Initiative will also be discussed informally with CBD Parties and partners on the margins of the Nineteenth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA-19), including at a side event to be held on Wednesday, 4 November 2015 during lunch time.Details of the event can be found at: https://www.cbd.int/register/side-events/list.aspx?mtg=SBSTTA-19.
