Description
Continental Infrastructure Seminar
Addis Ababa, 01 October – 4 October 2013

The Continental Seminar for Infrastructure in Africa was co-hosted by the Delegation of the European Union to the African Union and the African Union Commission at the AUC Conference Centre in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 1st to 4th October 2013. The event offered the unique opportunity to bring our African Partners, Financing Institutions, DEVCO Services, all our African EU Delegations and specialized sector organisations together at continental level. The total number of 125 participants mirrored the great appetite created for this event and recognised the important role our partners attribute to the EC as reliable partner for sustainable infrastructure development. The objective of the seminar was to exchange views, information and experience for the development of regional infrastructure in the energy, transport, water and ICT sectors. The seminar also aimed at the screening of regional and continental potential programmes to match EU policies with African needs and priorities to orient the respective future regional/continental infrastructure agendas under the 11th EDF RIPs and PAP.
