Developing agroecological value chains in West Africa: examples of honey in Benin and cocoa in Sierra Leone
NaturAfrica Afrique de l'Ouest - coordination régionale
Event details
Description
Supporting the development of a green economy around protected areas is one of the primary objectives of the European Union's NaturAfrica programme, with projects structured around the 3 pillars of biodiversity conservation, protected area governance and green economy development.
This focus, to support growth in employment and income based on resource efficiency and preventing the loss of biodiversity and ecosystem services, is likely to take on even more importance in phase 2 of the NaturAfrica programme.
This webinar will thus spotlight 2 concrete examples of developing and implementing entire value chains in and around NaturAfrica landscapes: cocoa in Sierra Leone, and honey in Benin. A Q&A session will follow the presentations.
With speakers:
- Emmanuel Nwala, RSPB, Gola-Foya landscape (Sierra Leone-Liberia)
- Eric Stanislas Hermann, African Parks, Benin component of the WAP landscape (W & Pendjari Parks, Benin)
English and French interpretation will be provided.
