OP-VET & Friends Webinar #3: Value Chains
This presentation was used during the TEI OP-VET & Friends webinar on “Opportunity-driven Skills Development in a Value Chain Approach: How young businesses can benefit”, held on 4 December 2025.
The session explored how the OP-VET approach applies a value chain lens to link skills development with concrete investment and employment opportunities under the Global Gateway. It highlighted why looking beyond individual companies towards the broader economic ecosystem allows for more relevant skills responses and stronger local impact.
The webinar also examined how supporting entrepreneurs, MSMEs and young businesses can activate opportunities along value chains and contribute to job creation, innovation and local value capture. TEI IYBA joined as a guest initiative to present complementarities with OP-VET, alongside concrete examples from Senegal and Mozambique illustrating how value chain diagnostics and SME support reinforce skills and employment outcomes.
