We are excited to announce the successful completion of “Urban Innovation made in Africa – Sustainable Planning and Construction”, led by GIZ and financed by the BMZ Policy Coherence Fund II. Its aim was to foster sustainable, climate-responsive, and socially just urban development. Over the past three years, the project has strengthened collaboration through an inter-ministerial policy dialogue in Germany, an Urban Lab in Rwanda, and a global Peer Learning Series engaging 600+ participants from Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

While the project has officially concluded, its impact continues through an ongoing ministerial exchange to strengthen policy coherence on urban development and the "Climate-sensitive, socially just planning and housing" project in Rwanda, advancing inclusive housing solutions.

Further, we are proud to launch our Good Practice Collection "Learning from Informality", a resource compiling scalable solutions for sustainable urban transformation. This collection showcases practical case studies and innovative approaches for inclusive urban planning, housing, and financing, supporting policymakers, practitioners, and local communities worldwide.
