Technical Assistance
Our Technical Assistance includes short-term, demand-driven assignments that allow beneficiaries to fill a specific capacity gap currently preventing them from achieving their goals related to climate change adaptation and mitigation. The programme’s technical assistance is flexible and varied, with support tailored to beneficiary needs.
To date, we have completed 65 technical assistance missions since June 2012. Almost 50% of our technical support has been implemented in LDCs, SIDS and other ACP countries. Other support missions have taken place to promote intra- and inter-regional cooperation, networking and knowledge sharing.
In addition, our partners offer wide-ranging technical assistance through their respective regional work.
UNFCCC Conference of the Parties
Our work on facilitating regional dialogue and promoting knowledge sharing has been applied specifically to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change negociations process. We have both organised and hosted a number of meetings where we encourage inter- and intra-regional discussion. Our link to the ACP Secretariat makes us especially well positioned to carry out this role. In addition to creating dialogue, we also produce knwoledge documents where we explain the positions, issues and resulting outcomes of the negociations process.
