Welcome to our work
Intra-ACP Programme supports ACP Member States to tackle climate change as a challenge to their development. The programme works towards this goal by offering technical assistance, promoting knowledge sharing, initiating regional dialogue, and facilitating regional partnership on climate change issues.
We support the work of our Regional Partners
The Intra-ACP GCCA programme seeks to build partnerships and complementarity in the ACP countries, and to this end a substantial part of the programme includes support to five regional partners. Emphasis in the regional programmes is on capacity building, applied research, technical assistance and promoting exchanges between countries.
We directly support technical assistance related to climate change
Through the Climate Support Facility (CSF), the programme offers direct technical assistance support to entities located in any ACP Member State. Support includes short-term, demand-driven assignments that fill a specific capacity gap currently preventing beneficiaries from achieving their goals related to climate change adaptation and mitigation.
We facilitate regional dialogue on climate change issues
We believe in fostering cooperation and networking on climate change issues, particularly at the intra- and inter-regional scales. To this end, we host a series of technical meetings with Regional Partners in which common issues related to climate change are identified and discussed. We also take an active role in discussions surrounding international climate change agreements – specifically the UNFCCC Conference of the Parties meetings – by hosting activities that enable ACP States to prepare for and identify issues of common concern within the context of the ACP Secretariat and Regions.
We promote knowledge sharing on climate change issues
We are proud to contribute to the creation and exchange of knowledge on climate change issues in ACP countries and regions, and there are a number of ways that we do this. Our technical assistance supports the formulation of feasibility studies, policy strategies, training materials and other guidance documents related to climate change. In addition, our Regional Partners have created a wealth of information in their regions. Finally, our work with the ACP States and Regions on international climate negotiations produces specific informational documents related to the UNFCCC talks.
