MAPS Webinars

In the framework of levarging cultural dialogue and facilitate the network of Sub-Saharan Africa UNESCO chairs, MAPS organises a series of webinars, which aim to share findings and discuss ideas on migration and forced displacement dynamics in the Sub-Saharan region in the framework of the UN SDGs.
Designed under each of the four thematic pillars addressed by the project, namely People, Planet, Prosperity and Peace, during the first semester of implementation MAPS has held the following webinars: “Population growth and exposure to multiple environment burdens in Sub-saharan Africa”; “Dynamiques migratoires et déplacements forcés en Afrique de l’Ouest: enjeux et perspectives de recherche”; “Economic interaction between Refugees and Host in Uganda”; "Evolution of the international refugee protection system, from the first universal instruments to the African and European regional legislation on the matter"; “External dimension of migration policy in Africa”. In the coming weeks, proposed titles include "The protection of fundamental rights of people on the move" and "Drivers of migration. Why do people move?"
Webinars are aimed to facilitate the network of Sub-Saharan Africa UNESCO Chairs, further enhancing dialogue on political, economic, cultural and social aspects of migration and forced displacement, and strengthening links among civil society, experts, decision-makers and media.
