Unemployment rate of displaced persons compared to the resident/host communities, disaggregated by sex, age group, disability status (OPSYS core indicator)
(Percentage point difference)
Data Source:

For host/resident community data - “national statistics”.

For the forcefully displaced population – “baseline and endline surveys conducted and budgeted by the EU-funded intervention”.

Additional Information

Adapted from SDG indicator 8.5.2 (Tier I): "Unemployment rate, by sex, age and persons with disabilities". The unemployment rate conveys the percentage of persons in the labour force who are unemployed. It is seen as an indicator of the efficiency and effectiveness of an economy to absorb its labour force and of the performance of the labour market. Calculation method: host/resident communities rate - rate for forcibly displaced persons. Please check if data disaggregation for host/resident communities and forcibly displaced persons is available for your country/ies. If data is not available, please foresee baseline and endline surveys to be conducted and budgeted by the EU-funded intervention. If primary data collection is needed, please ensure the same survey methodology and tools are used for both the baseline and endline surveys, for all relevant groups (host communities and displaced persons). Please also ensure each survey has a representative sample of its target population. Lastly, please check that displaced persons are not included (or can be deducted from) the local host community data with which the data on displaced persons specifically will be compared. For more detail on the SDG indicator methodology, please see : https://unstats.un.org/sdgs/metadata/?Text=&Goal=8&Target=8.5

GCR indicator 2.1.1. Proportion of refugees who have access to decent work, disaggregated by country of origin (OPSYS core indicator)
(Percentage)
Data Source:

Baseline and endline studies conducted and budgeted by the EU-funded intervention

Additional Information

Indicator 2.1.1 from the Global Compact on Refugees (GCR) Indicator Framework. This indicator provides a statistical estimate of the proportion of the refugee population for whom the domestic legal framework of the State provides access to the labour market and decent work opportunities in accordance with the 1951 Convention, as complemented by international human rights and labour law. It does not provide for a full or thorough description of the legal framework for wage-earning and self-employment as it applies to refugees. Nor does it measure the actual coverage of the law as applied in practice. For more detail, see https://www.unhcr.org/5cf907854.pdf.

Percentage of displaced persons who believe decision-making is inclusive and responsive, compared to the resident/host communities, disaggregated by sex, age group, disability status, population group, income level, level of education, rural/urban
(Percentage)
Data Source:

Progress reports for the EU-funded intervention

Additional Information

Adapted from SDG indicator 16.7.2 (Tier II): "Proportion of population who believe decision-making is inclusive and responsive, by sex, age, disability and population group". This survey-based indicator measures self-reported levels of ‘external political efficacy’, that is, the extent to which people think that politicians and/or political institutions will listen to, and act on, the opinions of ordinary citizens. To address both dimensions covered by this indicator, SDG indicator 16.7.2 uses two well-established survey questions, namely: 1) one question measuring the extent to which people feel they 'have a say' in what the government does (focus on inclusive participation in decision-making) and 2) another question measuring the extent to which people feel the political system allows them to have an influence on politics (focus on responsive decision-making). SDG 3.2.1 - Under-5 mortality rate among displaced persons, compared to the resident/host communities, disaggregated by sex, age group, wealth quintile, maternal education level, rural/urban (OPSYS core indicator)
(Percentage point difference)
Data Source:

For host/resident community data - “national statistics”.

For the forcefully displaced population – “baseline and endline surveys conducted and budgeted by the EU-funded intervention”.

Additional Information

Adapted from SDG indicator 3.2.1 (Tier I): "Under-5 mortality rate". Under-five mortality is the probability of a child born in a specific year or period dying before reaching the age of 5 years, expressed per 1000 live births. Mortality rates among young children are a key output indicator for child health and well-being, and, more broadly, for social and economic development. It is a closely watched public health indicator because it reflects the access of children and communities to basic health interventions such as vaccination, medical treatment of infectious diseases and adequate nutrition. Calculation method: host/resident communities rate - rate for forcibly displaced persons. The SDG indicator distinguishes between neonatal, infants and children under 5 in general, so any data collected for displaced persons should also follow this. Please check if data disaggregation for host/resident communities and forcibly displaced persons is available for your country/ies. If data is not available, please foresee baseline and endline surveys to be conducted and budgeted by the EU-funded intervention. (Percentage)
Data Source:

For host/resident community data - “national statistics”.

For the forcefully displaced population – “baseline and endline surveys conducted and budgeted by the EU-funded intervention”.

Additional Information

SDG indicator 16.7.2. Target population should include not only displaced persons but also members of resident/host communities. Please ensure disaggregation by sex and displacement status.Adapted from SDG indicator 6.2.1 (Tier I): "Proportion of population using (a) safely managed sanitation services and (b) a hand-washing facility with soap and water". The proportion of population using safely managed sanitation services, including a hand-washing facility with soap and water is currently being measured by the proportion of the population using a basic sanitation facility which is not shared with other households and where excreta is safely disposed in situ or treated off-site. ‘Improved’ sanitation facilities include: flush or pour flush toilets to sewer systems, septic tanks or pit latrines, ventilated improved pit latrines, pit latrines with a slab, and composting toilets. Population with a basic handwashing facility: a device to contain, transport or regulate the flow of water to facilitate handwashing with soap and water in the household. Please check if data disaggregation for resident/host communities and forcibly displaced persons is available for your country/ies, and specifically for "use of safe sanitation services" (otherwise the indicator can be rephrased to refer to "access to..."). If possible, provide disaggregated data about gender-sensitive examples: i.e. separate toilets relating to gender-responsive sanitation facilities, or menstruation hygiene facilities. Calculation method: host/resident communities rate - rate for forcibly displaced persons.
