Alana Sebit Owot, GREBI Country Team lead and Country Representative, South Sudan, joined IFDC in July 2021 as an Inclusive Agribusiness Advisor for the 2SCALE pilot program in South Sudan, contributing to the development of the agribusiness sector and food industry. Owot is an agronomist, entrepreneur, and agribusiness specialist with over 15 years of experience in agriculture, markets, and value chain development.

He has held various roles including Food Security and Livelihood Program Manager at GOAL Ireland, Agriculture Advisor at GIZ, Agronomist at ACTED, and farm manager and research assistant at the National Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security of the Republic of South Sudan. 

Owot holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Uganda Martyrs University, a master’s degree in agribusiness management and entrepreneurship from Uganda Christian University, a diploma in crop production and management from Busitema University, and a diploma in public administration and management from the Nsamizi Training Institute of Social Development. 

Mr. Artan Xërxa is an International Freelance Consultant and Manager, focusing on development of private sector with particular attention on SMEs. His services include project management, enterprise restructuring and transformation including ownership and creditor claim assessment, investment appraisal and business planning, financial analysis and ‘due diligence’, banking services management to real estate/private equity investment funds, design and implementation of donor assistance and financing programmes.

He advises private and public sector actors including governments on economic development and public finance management. His services extend to legal and financial due diligence, assessing company transformation from legal and financial point of view, assessing the merit and validity of various (ownership, creditor) claims once a company is being privatized/liquidated. He is also, well acquainted with the participatory techniques in project development and evaluation mainly using the PCM (Project Cycle Management) method.

Having started his professional career in private sector, Artan combines a solid experience resulting from the developed countries and in particular from the ever increasing developing ones, programme and resource management, financial expertise with knowledge of developing and implementing business support and financial services for the private sector in emerging markets. He is, multi-lingual with ease of human contact and high level representation, analytical and conceptual yet highly practical in his recommendations.
