On the 6th of September, we officially launched the group Urban Solutions: Slum Upgrading under the Urban Solution Network. Lars Gronvald, Head of Unit for Urban Development at DG INTPA and Alexander Jachnow, Lead of the Urban Development Technical Facility (UDTF) gave the opening words on the Urban Network Solutions. Thank you to everyone who participated in making this event a success.
During the launch, we gave an overview presentation on the group and we invited the participants to briefly discuss the pressing topics of “slums”, housing and sustainable development. The highlight of this discussion was the use of the word “slum” in urban and policy discourse. To take this discussion forward, please feel free to share your thoughts on the following presentation.
