MAPS Summer School "Research Methods and Strategies, Data Collection and Analysis"
MAPS Project
Event details
Description
From 2 to 6 February, the University of Dodoma will host the MAPS Second Summer School “Research Methods, Data Collection, and Analysis” at the Ramada Hotel in Dar es Salaam, bringing together 50 selected researchers from 10 African countries—Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Senegal, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, and South Africa—along with African and European partners for advanced training focused on migration studies.
The training represents the second in a series of training phases within the MAPS project, led by Sapienza University of Rome and funded by the European Commission, and aims to strengthen participants’ skills in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research.
Through lectures, case studies, and working group sessions, participants will gain practical experience in data collection and analysis, explore the ethical and spatial dimensions of migration, and learn how to integrate diverse research approaches.
This high-level initiative contributes to building a global community of migration researchers and addressing the complex challenges of migration studies.
