Water Thematic Regional Seminar - Astana, Kazakhstan

Target audience:

This seminar is aimed at staff and contractual agents from Delegations working directly in the water and sanitation and energy sectors, representatives of national water administrations (NWA), ministries responsible for water supply and sanitation issues, national water agencies and implementing partners.

Content:

The seminar aims to address the following topics (the list is not exhaustive)

1. EU water policies and programmes: Agenda for Change etc.

2. Water for economic growth: opportunities and challenges for a greener economy

3. Water-energy-agriculture nexus

4. Mainstreaming climate change and environment in development projects

5. Identify and support opportunities for Green Economy in development projects

6. Presentations and subjects submitted by Delegations

7. Blending Mechanism – Pacific Investment Facility for WatSan and Energy intervention

8. Field visit of EC funded projects and innovative experiences in the region

The seminar is based on cross-cutting and comparative analysis of the political support in different countries.
