0
What is this project about?
The Air Quality Governance project (2011-2014, 7 million EUR) supports Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation and Ukraine to tackle the challenges they face with the increase of air pollutant emissions. In particular, it supports the countries in their efforts to:
- Improve air quality legislation, strategies, regulation and bring them closer to European Union policy principles and approaches.
- Increase capacity to implement multilateral environmental agreements and conventions, including on long-range trans-boundary pollution, for example by introducing different air quality assessment and management tools widely used in the European Union.
- Raise public awareness of air quality issues, including promotion of regional and sub-regional co-operation and through the involvement of civil society and the private sector.
