The European Commission and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy presented the Global Gateway in 2021. To support the private sector and maximise the impact and effectiveness of Global Gateway investments, the Commission set up an expert group called the Global Gateway Business Advisory Group (BAG). The GG BAG will bring the business perspective to the Global Gateway strategy.

The group discusses the strategic orientations of Global Gateway. The Commission gets input from the business on their priorities, activities, challenges and opportunities and all discuss together the strategy's implementation.
