CONEXX - EUROPE ASBL (Belgium)

Conexx Europe, is a research and development associated centre of the Free University of Brussels. A group of 6 people works at its headquarters in Brussels and a total of 20 peoples lead its activities in 12 European and Latin American countries.

The fields of intra-European and Euro–Latin American cooperation represent its core activities. Conexx is leading the network Forum Trees, which works in the promotion of employment, social equity and education in Europe and Latin America.

Conexx Europe is involved in different areas: projects, training and education, advocacy, research and internationalization of organizations.

The three main areas of our work are: scientific cooperation, research and development cooperation. To cover the breadth and specificity of these areas, Conexx works with a group of specialists who have a strong and recognized expertise in the area, and a partner network of major European countries and Latin America. Our staffs are scientists and professionals from the following disciplines: development cooperation, cooperation in science, Information Technology and Communication, Economics, Environmental Engineering, Education, Culture, Human Resources, sociology and law. Our experience in these areas relevant for the project and our team of expert with previous experience working in European projects with similar features of this one are an add value for the consortium.

Currently Conexx Europe runs 3 projects funded by the EU and other 2 which are partially self-funded and co-funded by the private sector. Areas: human rights, employment and human rights, social sciences and ICT, employment and youth and on access to technologies of young and older adults. Moreover Conexx is the coordinator of an Erasmus + project, KA2-Strategic Partnership in the field of Higher Education regarding University Social Responsibility, leading a consortium of 9 organisation from 7 different countries.

In the areas of training and education over 70 universities in Europe and Latin America were trained on the following topics: internationalization of universities, fundraising, submitting projects for Horizon 2020, Erasmus + and EuropeAid. Conexx participates as partner in the Bachelor in "Corporate Social Responsibility" given in the University of Villa María. In this Bachelor in "CSR" Conexx deliver a course on Best practices and comparative Policies between Europa and Latin America.  

Conexx-Europe is widely experienced in project planning and management. Among the activities we carry out within the European Commission funded projects in which we are currently working are all activities related to project monitoring, communication, dissemination, research, advocacy, lobbying and visibility.

It is also a host organisation for the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs program through which Conexx provides young workers capacity building, advice and support in order to develop their business plan in our company and to boost their professional careers.

As coordinator of the project European Network of Socially Responsible Universities, funded by the Belgian National Agency "AEF-Europe", Conexx is conducting research about this topic, promoting the strengthen of the network among universities on the one hand, and companies and organisation from the third sector, on the other one, in order to promote their commitment towards the social responsibility, and will implement during the following 2 years several awareness--raising workshops and conferences under the project in order to spread the knowledge and the benefits of acting socially responsible inside the organisations (promoting the respect for human rights, non-discrimination, gender balance, social inclusion, respect of the environment, etc.)

Conexx offers capacity-building workshops or consulting for universities, companies and organisation from the third sector in:

 The planning, control, implementation and management of projects

 Strategic planning for internationalization

 Working as Helpdesk for the monitoring of the project

 Creation and development of thematic National Contact Points of the EU in Third Countries and consolidation of networking among SMEs, universities, public bodies, companies and other organisations.

 Both pre-evaluation and evaluation of projects

Hence, Conexx can provide training to youth workers participating in the project about those fields.

As member of Forum TrEES (Employment, Education and Social Equity) Conexx organise and is part of the annual conferences the Forum organise each year in a different country, involving youth workers, policy makers and professionals from different fields in order to research and to pool the best practices around Europe and Latin America to tackle youth unemployment and to develop quality educational system.

Last but not least, Conexx has expertise in the development of communication plans for European projects, the organisation of transnational meetings for partners and other visibility events with stakeholders, and it has a communication team which develops all the project dissemination and visibility activities.                

Mr Maximiliano Alonso

CEO of Conexx-Europe. Graduated in Business Administration and Master in Management by the Center for Financial Studies in Spain. Second postgraduate degree in Management Master List in the Université Libre de Bruxelles. Specializing in European policies. Until 2010 served as project coordinator 6 and 7 PM EU to Latin America at Centro Latin Americanist Université Libre de Bruxelles. He currently works as a consultant in the field of international cooperation in science technology and innovation, and youth development between Europe and Latin America.

Ms. Anna Martínez Codina

European project manager in Conexx-Europe. She has been involved in the submission and implementation of several European funding projects, mainly in Horizon 2020 Framework program, Erasmus Plus and EuropeAid. Degree in Business Administration from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and Master in International Relations with a concentration in Political Economy of Development and International Peace and Security by the Barcelona Institute of International Studies.
