Tarsia Municipality (Italy)

Tarsia municipality between 2008-2014 years promoted numerous cultural events. In particular, there werenew events, alongside the traditional Festivals and Celebrations of the city, that implement the cultural offer. The most important event is Tarantarsia and thanks to it the municipality and the local communityare working in order to offer support and new touristic services to increase the touristic sector. In fact, "Tarantarsia Festival" project aims to discover and give value the ethnic and musical traditions of Calabria, promote the historical and cultural heritage of the area, to make it more attractive for Italian and international tourist flows. Furthermore, it wants to increase the competitiveness of the cultural tourism sector and the importance of old town centre, with Museum of the Naturalistic Reserve, churches, historical buildings, libraries, etc.

The Museum of Memory is one of the main historical and touristic aspect of this municipality, in order toenhance the knowledge and awareness of the human history: the forcible deportation and killing of Jewish people during the II world war period.

Tarsia municipality promotes and implements initiatives, as part of itscompetence in order to foster youth employment. Therefore Tarsia municipality reserves each year in accordance to the available budget an amount useful for the youth policy, including the identification andinformation on State and Regional action addressed to promote the employment of the youth. Furthermorethe municipality promotes youth entrepreneurship in a local context and the development of creative industries, with specific activities contributing to the employability of young people.

Dr. Roberto Cannizzaro, he has a master’s degree in the disciplines of music and performing arts at University of Calabria andhe obtained a Master in "The musical cultures of the 900’s century," at University ofTor Vergata – Rome in 2010. From 2009 to 2014 he was President ofMusikart Cultural Association, operating into culture and education of arts sector. Since 2012 is director of Roka Productionscompany that deals with artistic productions, recordings and events. From 2014, he is city councilman at the Culture Tourism and Recreation for the Tarsia municipality.

Mrs. Monia Martorano, she is working such as city councilman at the Youth policies, childhood and social inclusionfor the Tarsia municipality. She work in that field in order to respond to different social need of the local community and at the same time she cooperates with schools to solve the mostissues.

Mr. Marco Cetraro, he has a diploma in eletronics consultant and nowadays he worked in this field in his family company. Since 2014, he found a new company ‘Feleasy srls” in education sector and in the same year he became a city councilman into Sport sector, Renewable Energy, Life Quality at the Tarsia municipality.
