Sub-Saharan Africa presents significant investment opportunities across multiple sectors. Many young people struggle to find decent jobs, while investors face a shortage of relevant skills in the labour force. To help close this gap, the Team Europe Initiative on Opportunity-driven Skills and Vocational Education and Training in Africa (TEI OP-VET) was launched in April 2024 under the Global Gateway strategy. The initiative aims to strengthen vocational education and training systems in SSA by aligning them with concrete employment opportunities emerging from public and private investments, making skills development a core enabler of sustainable growth and job creation.

KFDWB or K4DWB provides Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills and knowledge to people around the world with information on sustainable development issues and practices. It includes learning and interaction tools between members and users to face challenges of the 21st century in their local communities.

Euroclima, as part of the Global Gateway strategy, builds partnerships between the European Union (EU) and the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) regions to drive a green and just transition. Through bilateral dialogues and regional collaboration, the programme engages with 33 partner countries and key regional organisations to identify priorities and translate them into concrete actions, fostering long-term environmental and climate resilience. By creating the right conditions and supporting key initiatives in priority sectors, Euroclima helps establish a solid foundation for a sustainable transition. The programme also facilitates the mobilisation of climate and green financing, addressing urgent environmental challenges.

Under the Global Gateway initiative, the European Union supports the development of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor (TCTC) as a reliable and sustainable route linking Central Asia and Europe, aiming to improve connectivity, enhance the corridor’s competitiveness, and strengthen the resilience of regional and international transport networks.

ADELANTE 2 is the EU's LAC regional programme that aims at supporting the achievement the Agenda 2030 goals through triangular cooperation.

The Inclusive Societies Regional Programme aims to reduce gender and social inequalities, reduce poverty and social exclusion, and promote social cohesion in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). It strengthens the social dimension of the EU-LAC Global Gateway Investment Agenda with a 360-degree approach, providing opportunities for collaboration between the public, private and non-profit sectors.
