Cooperation on sustainable and inclusive economies is a key priority under the Pan-American Window of the Americas and the Caribbean Regional Multiannual Indicative Programme (MIP). It also features prominently in the EU–LAC Roadmap 2023 as an area for building political alliances. AL-INVEST Next builds on AL-INVEST Verde programme d aims to strengthen the EU’s partnership with the LAC region for sustainable and inclusive economic growth. It will help create the enabling conditions for the EU-LAC Global Gateway Investment Agenda, presented during the EU-CELAC Summit in July 2023 to be delivered. The programme supports knowledge exchange between EU and LAC private sectors and reflects the EU’s renewed approach to development cooperation. It builds on the achievements of the AL-INVEST Verde programme, integrates actions previously managed under the Foreign Policy Instrument (FPI), and supports new initiatives aligned with current EU strategic priorities.

AL-INVEST Verde
AL-INVEST Verde is the European Union–funded programme that promotes sustainable growth and job creation in Latin America. Its objective is to support the transition towards a low-carbon, resource-efficient and more circular economy by facilitating the implementation of sustainable production models within the framework of the Global Gateway strategy. The programme has a total budget of EUR 40.1 million and a five-year implementation period starting in October 2021. Its structure is organised into three components, which respectively work with Latin American small businesses, public institutions in the region, and the management of intellectual property rights: Component 1 - Innovation and Green Transition for SMEs Component 2 - Technical Assistance to the Public Sector in the region to foster sustainable value chains in compliance with environmental and labour standards Component 3 - Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for Sustainable Development

EL PACCTO 2.0 is the EU’s flagship programme underpinning EU-LAC cooperation aims to fight organised transnational crime using an integrated approach to reinforce the rule of law, citizen security and stability, both in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and Europe.

Towards a liquid, flexible and transparent global Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) market
The subsequent inception phase resulted in an agreed logical framework that defines project activities in five specific work packages generating concrete outputs, outcomes, and impacts. These work packages are: 1. International Events 2. Specialised Working Groups 3. Training and Technical Assistance 4. Communication and dissemination 5. Project Management In the 7 reporting periods LNGnet organised 10 training courses with a total number of 491 participants, implemented 5 Specialised Working Groups with 47 renowned international experts involved across them, and managed 3 international events with 203 participants. In total, stakeholders from across 52 countries across 5 continents were involved in LNGnet.

EUROCLIMA: Building a Green and Just Transition with Latin America and the Caribbean.
Euroclima, as part of the Global Gateway strategy, builds partnerships between the European Union (EU) and the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) regions to drive a green and just transition. Through bilateral dialogues and regional collaboration, the programme engages with 33 partner countries and key regional organisations to identify priorities and translate them into concrete actions, fostering long-term environmental and climate resilience. By creating the right conditions and supporting key initiatives in priority sectors, Euroclima helps establish a solid foundation for a sustainable transition. The programme also facilitates the mobilisation of climate and green financing, addressing urgent environmental challenges.
