Component 2. Support to the public sector

Component 2 promotes the development of public policies that support compliance with environmental and labour standards, fostering the sustainability of production value chains. It provides technical assistance in Latin American countries — MERCOSUR, the Andean Community and Chile — to advance sustainable trade and economic policies within the framework of the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

Component 2 of AL-INVEST Verde operates in the MERCOSUR countries (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay), the Andean Community (Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru), and Chile. It also organizes a series of dialogues on sustainable value chains.
